The 2019-2022 oversaw one of several major transitional periods in Aurora’s journey. A fresh graduate and now fully pledging herself as a full time artist, she was faced with multiple challenges: polarization of political landscape in the society stemming from 2018 presidential election, the start of COVID 19 pandemic outbreak, the beginning of the contraction of fine art market affected by economic turbulence at large.
While some of the pieces tackle specific issues, the general narrative of the series highlight the particular struggle of walking in the thin line between different worlds. Not truly belonging to any, but slowly and steadily building one’s own path.
The series uses highly saturated colors and extensive outlines reminiscent of vector graphic artworks, creating a paralel visual world that feels both artificial and real in the same time.
